The resizable VPS Avenger based GUI is simple in design. On the left are the file browser and the Effects section; in the middle are the Oscillator section and a tabbed page containing various editors, sequencers, and modulation controls; to the right are the Filter, Amp and Shaper units and the Modulation Matrix. Finally, at the bottom of the interface are the usual virtual keyboard/wavetable view and five freely assignable macro buttons and knobs.
The preset drum library contains over 160 complete kits, each with an accompanying sequence, though kits and patterns can also be mixed and matched, and you can drag in your samples. In addition, the Drum Sequencer can play the equipment when a MIDI note is received or disconnected from the sequencer to trigger via a keyboard or pads.
The Drum Sequencer is simple but effective. Click notes with the pencil tool, select them with the marquee tool, and adjust the velocity, pan, pitch, and gate time of the selected notes with the knobs labelled. Speed can also be edited by dragging the stems below each letter, and rolls of up to eight strokes can be specified for individual notes.
Clicking on a waveform reveals the Main Editor’s sample and its editing controls. Adjustable parameters include Volume, Pitch, Pan and Spike, the latter for boosting transients (and included in Avenger’s main Amp module). Additionally, the trigger can be shifted in any direction to effortlessly “smear” claps and snares, a welcome feature that is very rare on drum machines. Each drum also has its routing panel through the Shaper, Step Sequencer, Effects and Master Filter sections, but not the ‘insert’ filter or amp.
The Avenger’s Drum module is a lot of fun and worth including. However, it’s a shame that each channel can only load samples, not synth oscillators, though we’re told this is planned for an update.
Instead of simply merging the oscillators into a composite tone in the mixer, as other synths do, Avenger treats each one as an entirely discrete sound source, to be triggered and traditionally mixed with others if desired or sent over the air. If only. Path as the basis of a separately sequenced, self-contained “instrument”.
VPS Avenger 2.0.5 VST Crack is possibly the best-equipped synthesizer we have ever encountered. The numbers are mind-blowing: eight-pitch envelopes, eight modulation envelopes with multiple breakpoints, eight-step sequencers, four amp envelopes, four filter envelopes, four LFOs, three macro knobs, a host of “math” functions, all standard MIDI messages and various CCs, and oscillator wavetable envelopes and vibrato LFOs. The target list is even more extensive, covering, we believe, all instrument parameters, from oscillators and filters to arpeggiators and effects.
Up to 256 modulation assignments are made by dragging sources to destinations or selecting both in the Modulation Matrix. At the same time, amounts are set by dragging the little triangles that appear next to modulated parameters or sliders in the Modulation Matrix. Assignments are grouped by mod source in the Matrix and collapsed to reduce clutter, so you can change any source to change all of its terms at once.
